#mellomorningmiles

spring keeps springing up occasionally, and the sun has been peaking up early enough to have both 5am and 7am options, so I dare say … “it’s back!”

#mellomorningmiles

search facebook for #mellomorningmiles for announcements and chit chat

the routine  is:

– – tuesdays + thursdays ( 5am + 7am )
– – briskly riding road racing bicycles or similar for ~2hrs
– – roll out from Mello Velo Bicycle Shop

silly idea… yum.

candy + sports

sportsnutrition idea:
gummies shaped like bicycle wheels

  • use the gummi-fruit-orange-cross-section mold for initial convenience  (until you step your game up)
  • flavored with chili pepper, perhaps also chocolate? ..  think spicy hot chocolate
  • gives you the full flavor, long enduring strength of black chili compound and the taste of embrocation within – – while not turning your insides out!

supplemental bullet points

  • everyone loves gummy bears, everyone loves bicycles?
  • take candy, add salt (electrolytes) = fancy treat to eat to ward off cramps while happily snacking along allowing you to ride like a human machine all day in the hot sun whilst feeling like a kid again riding through the neighborhood with the corner store candy snacks!
  • I am obviously not a nutritionist..

gummi-science-chili

more tangental bullet points

  • but if this product is developed…
    • I demand royalties.. or just a lifetime supply…
  • it could be called ‘Bears and Bicycles’..
  • maybeee bears-RIDING-bicycles could be a shap available to a wider market (without the added ‘electrolytes’ .. )
  • perhaps sporty-salty ones could also be  shaped as lightening bolts… because electrolytning-bolts™  sound fun… (copyright pending)
  • do not eat gummies while running… in my experience this is a frustratingly bad idea.
  • science.

*images and scientific figures derived from the beautiful graphics on www.conti-online.com – – they are not to be used for any sort of profit… just for fun. if this spectacular idea comes to fruition we will probably market them initially in Ziploc Brand bags — haha. just kidding.

SPRINGTIME 10k

If you’ve ridden with us… you may be familiar with Apulia Road.. a the long rolling gateway to Lafayette / Syracuse, depending on your direction of travel. You may know it from the CNY Tri practice duathlons / triathlons of the summer times, or the Mello Morning Miles where day light breaks over the hill crest to your left as you ride up up up and illuminating the way home as your inevitable exhilarating descent perhaps takes you back to Apulia, either to make your way north to get the work day started with that great tingle of life still resonating in your quads and calves for the remainder of the day.. or perhaps you have one more Colton Road climb to do before you can enjoy the rest of your day only the way morning miles make possible.. perhaps you know Apulia from the Syracuse 70.3 that glorious long trial of you fitness that perhaps brought you to the fine Central New York region, maybe you knew it would be one of the more challenging half ironman courses.. maybe it was a pleasant surprise… or maybe you walked your TT bike up the first hill after Apulia brought you into town and and the trek towards the penitentiary was just the beginning… or maybe you know if from just a long run through the countryside.. or from the balloon fest where little specs of color float about in number for a few days each year adding excitement to the Syracuse skyline.. or perhaps just from that odd route you take to/from that one place.. whichever way.. our friends over at InStride Sports have put together a nice little 10k foot race set for it’s inaugural competition April 19th.

Any how, it starts on Apulia, heads south sweeps up the beautiful little rollers out to a little known winery and comes right back. boom quick out – back – done.

Check it out : SPRINGTIME 10k

get cookin’ !

I’m sure we all long to wander across the world and explore the nooks and crannies of the far stretches of earth, perhaps by bicycle… Silly norms, limited resources and such always seem to stand in the way.. Well the internets shared one little trick to make light weight meandering explorative nomadic life a little more within reach..

If 10,000 people read this blog post I hope at least 1 to 3 of them become nomadic homeless people who could crush a cat1/pro cyclist at the drop of a hat in a 100mi race. Maybe that number is to high, if 10 people read this post I hope still at least 1 person grows a serious raggedy beard, gradually covers themselves in road grime for a minimum of 3 years, whilst growing quads that could resemble an assortment of gallon jugs smuggled in the legs of a lycra race kit (if they should ever decide to wear such a sparkly impractical outfit).
