gotham cup duathlon!

Who knew Prospect Park, Brooklyn was a nice morning trip from Syracuse? Made it there in time to race at 7:30am, and back in time to play good ol’ fashioned BTB hockey at night!

Above is my hip interpretational photographic documentation of the drive down to Brooklyn.

It was great fun racing through Prospect Park, already on the second lap of the first run the city started to come alive, probably delayed from normal days as it was a sleepy Sunday after all. By a few laps into the bike it was like a video game; dodging pedestrians, joggers, walkers – some with dogs on leashes making their surface area for impact about 8 feet wide while they still thought they were only normal human width, regular cyclists, 1 man who seemed to enjoy bouncing his giant kick ball and occassionally just watch it roll down the inclines seemingly observing what would happen as it approached the packs of cyclists and generic crowd approaching.

All said and done, finished up 2nd overall, met some very nice folks while we were waiting for the final tally of the results.

These dudes have the fire to get athletes on the competitive stage… worth checking it out.

bigger. stronger. faster. BTB.

This has been a public service announcement supported by BTB because we think you should use as many convenient local resources as possible to get stronger which directly correlates to doing more awesome stuff and having more fun.

Any questions, call Brent Morehouse on the phone number from the flier and bother him.. or if you just feel the urge to heckle someone and you’re not currently at a cross race… tell him BTB athletics sent you. OH! and there is a BTB discount since you heard about it here, ask him about it in your email or tele-heckle-conference.. points go to best cowbell ringtone and digital hand-up. just reference BTB or the Brothers Hadzor Conglomeration

Sincerely,
management

text in gray means we made it up, but still kind of stand behind it.

trainer season

It’s not quite trainer season, but with the crazy rain and this little radar snapshot heading our way:

wall of weather

I’m glad to start the indoor hammertime..

as this time of the year approaches, I am happy to focus the time spent spinning wheels to also satiate my new addiction of watching bmx+mtb videos.. coincidentally the music typically ranges from decent to excellent.

for the next stationary foray I’m thinking :

warm up:

work out:
not found yet. ~1-2hr.

cool down:
~15-20min

cx season approaches!

As the temperature fluctuates wildly there are tell tale signs the fall is coming. The occasional brisk gray weekend and cool evenings that lead to morning rides, far darker than just near weeks prior. The trees typically green, turn orange and occasionally bright red, but this hides in the shadows and folks claim it was a trick of their eye. The apples ripe and fragrant on the trees as you climb around route 20, even in the city you see crab apples gathered along the curb.. there’s no denying it..

cyclocross season is coming!

who’s up for some adventure..?

2013 HAUDENOSAUNEE WOODEN STICK EXPO

Variety Studios has been helping out with some graphics and fun stuff for the first annual Haudenosaunee Wooden Stick Expo.

Haudenosaunee Wooden Stick Expo

BTB Athletices loves the sport of lacrosse.. reminiscent of our days with the OAC.. box.. field.. a well placed shoulder that completely deflates a greedy attackman.. getting back on D.. hustling for the ground ball and getting it up the field.. end to end goalie rushes..

The modern sport of lacrosse continues to change every day, in a blink of an eye there is already tons of different stuff than when I played regularly. This event is a celebration of the original 5 nations that came together in peace to play The Creators Game, and it is an opportunity to learn about its rich history centered around the iconic traditional wooden stick.

There will be exposition games and legends of the sport.  I anticipate it will with out a doubt light the fire of anyone who’s played.

Check it out Sept 28th+29th
